Job Description
A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Pediatric Rheumatologist to join its specialized pediatric department. The ideal candidate should possess extensive expertise in diagnosing and managing autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders in children and adolescents, ensuring high standards of patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and manage pediatric rheumatic, autoimmune, and inflammatory conditions.
Treat juvenile idiopathic arthritis, pediatric lupus, vasculitis, and other connective tissue disorders.
Develop individualized treatment plans for children with chronic rheumatological diseases.
Prescribe and monitor immunosuppressive medications, biologic therapies, and disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs).
Evaluate and manage pediatric musculoskeletal pain, joint inflammation, and systemic autoimmune conditions.
Perform joint examinations and intra-articular injections within approved clinical privileges.
Interpret laboratory investigations, autoimmune markers, and relevant diagnostic imaging.
Collaborate with pediatricians, immunologists, physiotherapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Provide long-term disease monitoring, patient education, and family counseling.
Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, and allied healthcare professionals.
Participate in clinical research, audits, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics.
Fellowship or advanced subspecialty training in Pediatric Rheumatology.
Extensive clinical experience in pediatric autoimmune and rheumatological disorders.
Eligibility for the relevant DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant license, subject to UAE PQR requirements and applicable subspecialty recognition.
Strong expertise in immunomodulatory therapies and pediatric rheumatological disease management.
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
