Job Description
A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant Pain Medicine Physician to join its specialized medical team. The ideal candidate should possess extensive expertise in chronic and acute pain management, interventional pain procedures, and multidisciplinary treatment approaches, ensuring high standards of patient care and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, assess, and manage patients with acute, chronic, and complex pain conditions.
Develop individualized, evidence-based pain management and rehabilitation plans.
Perform interventional pain procedures, including nerve blocks, epidural injections, and radiofrequency ablation, within approved clinical privileges.
Manage musculoskeletal, neuropathic, spinal, and cancer-related pain conditions.
Evaluate patients for advanced pain management techniques and minimally invasive interventions.
Prescribe and monitor pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain treatments.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation specialists.
Provide comprehensive patient education regarding pain management, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
Monitor treatment outcomes, manage complications, and ensure patient safety.
Supervise and mentor junior physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
Recognized postgraduate qualification in Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurology, or another relevant specialty.
Fellowship or advanced subspecialty training in Pain Medicine.
Extensive clinical experience in pain management and interventional pain procedures.
Eligibility for the relevant DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant license, subject to UAE PQR requirements and approved clinical privileges.
Strong knowledge of multimodal pain management and evidence-based treatment protocols.
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
