◾ A diploma or bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or a related discipline is preferred.
◾ Familiarity with occupational safety and health (OHS) systems and procedures at construction project sites.
◾ Ability to conduct risk assessments and prepare inspection and safety reports.
◾ Knowledge of Work Permit Procedures (PTW) and Task Risk Analysis (JSA).
◾ Ability to follow up on compliance by workers and contractors with safety requirements and personal protective equipment (PPE).
◾ Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA are preferred.
◾ Good skills in accident reporting, implementation of safety awareness and training programs.
