Prepare, examine and analyse complex accounting records, financial statements and audit reports to ensure compliance with IFRS and Australian Accounting Standards. Supervise 10 accountants overseeing financial analysis, financial audits, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, VAT, budgets, superannuation and payroll in accordance with GAAP standards. Notable Accomplishments:
- Built a finely tuned accounting department, fostering a collaborative environment that improved productivity, client relationships and overall performance.
- Introduced an integrated financial management system across the business that revamped and streamlined significant areas of the business, thus leading to a 5% reduction in operating expenses.
- Negotiated with the ACCC and ATO on behalf of a major engineering client regarding discrepancies in their internal accounting systems. This allowed the client to avoid any fines or sanctions, therefore no business interruption occurred. Thereafter played a major role in implanting new internal control procedures.
- Completed due diligence and comprehensive business valuation analysis that was crucial in advising a client about a merger. The successful merger allowed my client to realise cost synergies and overall profitability.
